Notice is hereby given that, pursuant to ADEM Administrative Code r. 335-6-11-.01(3), a public hearing before the Alabama Department of Environmental Management will be held on July 19, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. in the Hearing Room of the ADEM building located at 1400 Coliseum Boulevard, Montgomery, Alabama.

The purpose of this hearing is to provide the public an opportunity to comment on water quality standards for Alabama waters. The Alabama Department of Environmental Management is soliciting public input and comments on current provisions of ADEM Administrative Code chapter 335-6-10, Water Quality Criteria, and chapter 335-6-11, Water Use Classifications for Interstate and Intrastate Waters.

Copies of the current provisions are available at each of the following locations. Copies are also available on the Internet at: adem.alabama.gov/programs/water/waterquality.cnt.

The public hearing is held to allow all interested persons an opportunity to become involved in the water quality standards review process and offer data, views and arguments regarding the existing provisions. Anyone wishing to submit comments may do so at the hearing or through the mail. In order to be considered, the Hearing Officer must receive comments before 5:00 p.m. on July 19, 2012.
