Operator Certification

General Information

The purpose of water and wastewater treatment operator certification is to protect the public health and welfare and prevent pollution by classifying all water and wastewater treatment plants, water distribution systems, and public wastewater collection systems, and by establishing a program for the certification of the competency of operators to operate such plants and systems.
 


The operator certification regulations are in DIVISION 335-10-1.

On-Line Renewal

Computer Based Exams

To apply for a Computer Based Exam fill out ADEM Form 505 and pay the application fee.  Please remember to check the Computer Based Exam box on the application. For information on testing sites go to  www.goamp.com

Paper Exams

Paper exams are typically given on the third Thursday in June at ADEM.  The exam for 2008 will be June 19th.  To apply fill out ADEM Form 505 and pay application fee.
