Underground Storage Tank (UST) Compliance Information
The Compliance Unit of the Ground Water Branch is responsible for
implementation of equipment and leak detection standards for underground storage
tank systems. These staff perform inspections, and recommend enforcement action
where needed. This Unit also serves to provide the regulated public with as much
information as possible to insure that a tank owner or operator understands what
their responsibilities.

Guidelines for Conducting UST Closure Site Assessments

been properly evaluated by an independent third-party in accordance with an
accepted test protocol. Alabama accepts the use of leak detection
equipment/methods on this list. Appearance on this list is not to be construed
as an endorsement by any regulatory agency nor is it any guarantee of the
