Notice is hereby given that a hearing before the Department of Environmental Management of the State of Alabama will be held on March 6, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. in the Main Hearing Room at the ADEM – Central Office location at 1400 Coliseum Blvd. in Montgomery, for the purpose of proposing new regulations and a fee schedule for the Alabama Uniform Environmental Covenants Program.

The Alabama Department of Environmental Management proposes to add Division 5 to its Administrative Code to implement the Alabama Uniform Environmental Covenants Act, which was enacted into law in June 2007, and to revise Division 1 to include Schedule J – Environmental Covenant Fees.

Copies of the proposed rules are available at a cost of .30 per page at each of the locations listed below. The summary of reasons supporting the revisions are available free of charge. Copies of the proposed rules and the summary of reasons also be found on the Internet at http://adem.alabama.gov/PubHearings/PubHearings.htm at no cost.

Attendance at the hearing is not necessary to present such data, views, arguments, or comments as the same may be submitted in writing, but must be received by the Hearing Officer prior to 5:00 p.m. on March 6, 2009.
