NOTICE OF A PROPOSED VOLUNTARY CLEANUP PLAN UNDER THE ALABAMA LAND RECYCLING AND ECONOMIC REDEVELOPMENT ACT (ALRERA) FOR THE FORMER CHALKLINE FACILITY LOCATED IN ANNISTON, ALABAMA.

The City of Anniston has submitted a Voluntary Cleanup Plan for the former Chalkine facility located at 215 West 11^th Street in Anniston, Calhoun County, Alabama. The property was developed with the current structures in 1880-1881. The City of Anniston acquired the property on June 14, 2007. The Voluntary Cleanup Plan Department is currently under review by the Department.

Copies of the Voluntary Cleanup Plan are available for public inspection through February 11, 2008 during normal business hours Monday through Friday, except legal holidays at the following locations:

Copies may be obtained by contacting Mr. Russell Kelly, ADEM, at the above address. A nominal fee for copying and/or emailing will be charged. Arrangements for copying should be made in advance.

In order to affect final decisions, all comments must address issues that have an impact on the applicant’s ability to comply with applicable environmental laws, rules, and regulations. ADEM maintains a list of interested individuals who are mailed legal notices issued by the Department.
