PROPOSED ORDER
Pursuant
to the provisions of the Alabama Environmental Management Act, the Alabama
Department of Environmental Management is proposing to issue an Order to the Walker County Board of
Education which operates a wastewater treatment facility located in Nauvoo,
Walker County, Alabama.
The
Order addresses NPDES permit violations for exceeding the discharge limits
established in the Permit.
The Department is proposing a civil penalty in the
amount of $4,100 and stipulated penalties for future violations incurred during
the compliance schedule. The order, if
issued, would require the Walker County Board of Education to submit an Engineering Report outlining the corrective
action needed to comply with all provisions of NPDES Permit Number AL0051420
and to adhere to a Compliance Plan that will be submitted to the Department
within 90 days from the effective date of the Order. The Compliance Plan is subject to approval by
the Department. The Order imposes a requirement
to comply with Permit Number AL0051420 no later than 365 days from the
effective date of the Order.
